Here's What Industry Insiders Say About A High Performing Recruiter.
The Job of recruiter has never been so important as it is now. Every good organization requires a high performing recruiter or a bunch of high performing recruiter to filters out the top candidates and brings them to the organization. It's not an easy job to convince someone to work for you or your company as it requires a lot of perseverance, research and on top of all that, dedication to take control of the situation while finding that one great candidate for the company.
I have come to believe that those who excel in recruitment think differently than others. so many different types of people can be high performing recruiters. it's not always about the one social person who can talk to everyone, who is most effective. Many a time, it's the quiet, thoughtful individual, so personality type alone is not the answer.
A high performing recruiter is a great asset to the organization there is no doubt about it. but How do we become one? The one way to become a high performing recruiter is to stand out from the rest. but these days standing out is becoming harder and harder as everyone is working to stand out and go the extra mile. Here is my take on 6 components that can help you become high performing recruiter.
1-Perform with Excellence:- A recruiter work on multiple positions at a time be it consultancy or corporate, as they have to achieve their target or need to fill the position within the time but that leads them to lose themselves for a time being. I mean they will go through the burnout situation where they have to stretch themself for sharing more and more profiles in order to close that one burning position or also to satisfy the reporting manager.
We seem to be in an age where quantity is considered more important than quality, especially in the agency, but that makes it even more important that you go against the tide. Make sure that everything you do is done with excellence and you will stand apart from others in the best ways.

2-Don't wait for Permission:- I have seen recruiters will wait for their manager's approval or job description after getting a brief about a position, to start working on it that they receive recently from their client or hiring manager, especially the one who happens to be POC (point of contact) for that client.
Don't wait for validation from anyone else, give yourself permission to take the first step forward and claim your spot. do your own research and make a job description even share this with clients as well, you might get appreciated for your effort but only when you take charge of your work.

3-Give attention and help before you seek them out for yourself:- At the workplace with everyone around you working so hard to get noticed, you can set yourself apart by giving before you get. Make a habit of helping others without any expectation of getting anything back. This will not only differentiate you from others, it also means that when you need a favour, you are also likely to be well received.
4-Stop Marketing Yourself:- So many people feel that they have to sell themselves, brand themselves and market themselves to get noticed by managers but what you really need to do is to let your work and actions speak for themselves. as we say "Work hard in silence and let your success make noise".
Let your authentic self be the thing that differentiates you from others, the more real and unforced you are, the more relatable you will be and the more people will be drawn to you.

5-Always let the character lead the way:- We are leaving in a time where everyone wants to be known as the superstar, everyone is ready to go the extra mile put in the extra effort to get noticed or to stand out. But none of this will make you truly stand out if for no other reason, than because everyone else doing it too.
Instead work to lead with dignity, respect, excellence, authenticity and character. as at the end of the day results matter but character matters more. The character will always make you do what is right, and doing what is right is more important than doing what's easy or what will earn you praise.

6-Lead from within:- If you want to distinguish yourself go back to basic, the fundamentals of what makes us a good human being.
Recruitment is an incredibly rewarding field to be part of, you are in a position to help your company succeed and to help people find their dream job. with the right recruiting skills and willingness to continually learn and grow. you can become a truly great addition to the Hr Team.
